Fall on the Homestead
Sunday, October 13 - 10:30am to 4:00pm
Take in the breathtaking fall backdrop as we prepare to close for the season!
Grab a sweater or jacket and head to the homestead to take in the crisp fall air and admire the autumn colours! Warm up with a steaming cup of apple cider or hot chocolate as you take part in the family friendly festivities. Listen to live music from Grace Hoksbergen, make ice cream and butter one last time this season, and join in the annual scarecrow making contest! Judging will be at 1:30, and there will be prizes for staff favourite, crowd favourite, and the most creative! Play some old-fashioned games with our staff, try your luck bobbing for apples in the Welcome Barn, or make a fall themed ornament!
Treat yourself to dessert with a slice of pie or a bit of candy and start your Christmas shopping early by perusing our year-end sale in the General Store. Come out early for the pancake breakfast, warm up with a bowl of chili or sweet potato soup, chow down on a hot dog or hamburger from the BBQ, or pack your own picnic lunch as you work up an appetite in the fresh air. The fire will be on if you feel like making s'mores!
Enjoy the picturesque homestead while you take part in our self-guided treasure hunt with guaranteed prizes, learn about the site's history through a guided tour, or simply relax in the great outdoors amongst the changing leaves!
